I Won!

I'm so excited! I won a scrapbooking contest! It's kind of silly, though, because there were only 5 entries. But, hey, I still got a $25 gift certificate to my favorite website! The contest was to submit a layout that had to have this quote on it somewhere: "Lead me not into temptation. I can find the way myself." Since I got my pride hurt with the last contest, I almost didn't enter this one. I know, ridiculous. Well, someone had already done a page on coffee and another one on scrap patterned paper, so I thought I'd take a different approach and write it from Bison's point of view. I used that picture that I posted awhile back (Addicted to pugs ...) and a couple others that I had of Bison and took about 30 minutes to throw this page together using some paper that I have had for a long time and just needed to use and some cheap letter stickers that I got for nearly nothing at Wal-Mart. When I finished the page, I took it to show John and said somewhat facetiously, "Look, I'll probably win with this one, even though I just sort of threw it together." I uploaded it to the site, rolling my eyes that I would enter this in a contest.

Well, what do you know? I won. It really wasn't much of a contest, like I said, with only 5 entries, but mine had the brightest colors and a mildly creative layout. Here's how it turned out:

The cool thing is that the website puts the winning layouts on their homepage for a week! So, if you want to see it there, you can go to www.apeekintoyesterday.com.

I'm getting some new paper for sure! Basic Grey and Cosmo Cricket, here I come!

I love the page you designed! Bison has such a cute face, I can't imagine him ever being led into temptation! (Of course, there was that incident where he ate the bread dough and got sick!)-- and another time when he got into my suitcase! :)

Whoa, you are such a scrapbooking junkie! I absolutely love your layouts and pages. You will be so thrilled to have all of that done once your family grows in just over a month. Although, you are so organized that I'm sure you will make time to scrapbook the new arrival. CONGRATS on your win. I have no doubt you would have won in there had been 105 entries!!

Yea, Kim! Congratulations! Who cares how many entries there were if you won $25 worth of stuff -- that's great! And your layout was great and colorful!

I'm glad that you guys had a good couple of days, too -- it sounds like you needed a little boost. :)

Have a good week!
