Numbers

10--the number of Kalleigh diapers we went through a couple of nights ago
1 to 4--the am hours she was awake that same night, uh, morning (time is so relative)
2--the average number of new diapers needed for each Kalleigh diaper change
4--the number of Kalleigh outfits needed yesterday
3--the number of times we've changed Johnathan's sheets this week. He's not potty training, he's just peeing A LOT
2--the number of days I have until I start keeping Baby Nathan again in the mornings
3--the number of packages of newborn and size one diapers we've been through since bringing Kalleigh home

It's tiring, but it's all worth it!! I absolutely love this little bundle sleeping on a pillow on my lap right now. Johnathan is so sweet with her! Yesterday morning, I went out on the back porch swing to nurse Kalleigh, and Johnathan poked his head out the door. He had just woken up. It was a little chilly outside, so I asked him if he wanted to wrap up in his blanket and come sit with us. He did, and I enjoyed the next few quiet minutes swinging and cuddling with my two kiddos. This is life, and I love it!

PART 2: Desitin, anyone?

This happened about 5 minutes before we were headed out the door. Needless to say, we were late. :)

The Desitin photo is hilarious! He reminds me of Red Skelton in clown makeup! I know that stuff is nearly impossible to scrub off.

Yes, you have your own version of TV's "Numbers." Maybe you can come up with an algorithm to predict the frequency and location of future messy diapers. ---- Nah---- It's easier to just change them as they come!

I wonder what Desitin tastes like?
Maybe ask little Jonathan.

Oh, how cute! Of course, I didn't have to scrub it off -- what a job! Sort of reminds me of when Deborah tried to wash Elizabeth's hair with about half a bottle of lotion!

Ewwwwww gross!!!! Can't believe that happened! I guess you have to still have the house Johnathan-proofed.

Well, Kim, if anybody can handle this, you can!!! Love you!

Welcome back to life with an infant! At least you know now that the late nights and constant diaper changing doesn't last forever!

I always tell James that I can't wait to have a baby! But after reading your "numbers" I may make just a little easier for me to wait! :)
Then again seeing the pictures make it hard!! :)

That is so funny--I have a similar picture of Caleb with Desitin. I was upstairs with Joshua and I hear this little 2-year-old voice say, "Mommy, I'm gonna need some help with this sunscreen." I came downstairs to find my little Caleb with Desitin all over his face, grinning from ear to ear. Needless to say, we had no face-chaffing that day!! =) Your kids are so precious.

Hey--Johnathan comes by it naturally--this Desitin picture reminds me of John when he was about 4 & he had taken a black marker & drawn a "circle" all around his mouth which of course made him look like a clown! When Mom asked why he did that, he looked up with tears welled up in his precious eyes & said, "'Cause I didn't know I did!" It was one of those innocent moments that you couldn't possibly be mad about! :) Mom & I just died laughing! Of course, we weren't on our way out the door, either! :)

Kim, I loved the picture. It reminds me of my own kids and all the trials and funny times when they were growing up. The times you look back on now and want to laugh, but at the time you wanted to spank them for making you late. You just have to laugh about all the things kids get into.

Kim, just one more thought on this writing. I remember the first time I was able to go by the "Baby Isle" in the grocery store and I almost Jumped and cheered. But I thought everyone would think I had lost my mind. No more diapers, desitin, baby lotion, baby food, formula, etc. It was great and yet it was like a chapter was closed in my life. A bitter-sweet feeling. Love to all, JOY
